The Role: Education Qualitative Research Consultant (Francophone)

As an Education Qualitative Research Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in UNICEF’s efforts to enhance educational outcomes in Francophone countries. Your expertise in qualitative research methodologies will be crucial in gathering and analyzing data, providing insights that will inform policies and programs aimed at improving educational access and quality for children.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct Qualitative Research: Design and implement qualitative research studies, including interviews, focus groups, and case studies, to gather in-depth insights into educational challenges and opportunities in Francophone regions.
Data Analysis: Analyze qualitative data to identify patterns, trends, and key findings. Provide evidence-based recommendations to inform UNICEF’s educational strategies and initiatives.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations that effectively communicate research findings to stakeholders, including UNICEF staff, government officials, and partner organizations.
Collaboration: Work closely with UNICEF teams, local education authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure the research is aligned with programmatic goals and meets the needs of the target communities.
Capacity Building: Provide training and support to local researchers and education professionals in qualitative research methodologies and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Advanced degree in Education, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field with a strong focus on qualitative research.

Experience: At least five years of professional experience in conducting qualitative research, preferably in the education sector. Experience working in Francophone countries is highly desirable. Language: Fluency in French is essential, along with strong English language skills.

Skills: Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex research findings into actionable recommendations. Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software is an asset.
